Steven Barrett.

Although I started off my working life at sea in the Royal Navy I left and after a time at Brunel Bristol I became a fully qualified Marine Radio Officer, even took my Radar exams which was noel at the time. Unfortunately this career was not to be as we had a really bad oil crisis (1978) and I found myself ‘on the beach’ and had to try other forms of work, a bit of a shock as from 15 to my mid 20’s I had always been attached to the sea. In 1981 my brother left the Royal Marines and after a time we eventually set up our telephone system business as Maggie Thatcher had liberalised the telecom’s industry in the UK. After a few name changes we are still here although now we manufacture VoIP telephone systems and maintain computer networks as well as Cloud based Servers and Cloud based telephone systems we still supply and fit the traditional types of equipment …and still get out there doing some of the installation work as there is plenty of life left in these old sea dogs !
