Monks Cross Shopping Park, York

Sunday being not nice enough to do anything in the garden we decided to head even further up north to Monks Cross Shopping Park. We took the precaution of charging at the Wetherby Services on the ecotricity super fast charger then headed down the A59 and onto the ring road to this huge shopping area. We couldn’t find anywhere to charge and were told by the trolley guy at ASDA that they don’t have chargers for EV’s at all. So after driving around several car parks we decided to head down to McArthur Glen retail outlet as we know they have chargers there. I’ve just been looking online and it looks like there may be chargers at Monks Cross somewhere in a park & ride car park but with no-one knowing anything we had to leave it this time. Pity as I was in the market for a new suit which I ended up getting at the next shopping centre who actively advertise their charging facilities. Its really weird how many of these large centres either ignore the EV trade or only cater for us in a reluctant manner, the bulk of the people I meet using EV’s seem to be at the ‘carriage trade’ end of the spectrum so why would anyone wish to ignore such a cash crop ?. Things must have changed since I was in retail !.

If anyone has actually used a charger at this location I would appreciate some details of how to find it and what sort of charging is available please.
