Week One – Living with Evie

I reckon every man and his dog has called their EV Evie but there you go its a popular name !.

We have been living with Evie for nearly a week now having picked her up last Saturday and today being Thursday PM I thought an update was on the cards.  All has gone well apart from struggling with the Carwings program. I thought we could set a time to switch the heated seats on etc but it appears we can only control the Air conditioning to come on for a timed period. I will investigate this further. I have finally managed to get logged into the leaf forum web site, had to use a PC to do this as it doesn’t like my Android Samsung Tablet one little bit.  I’ve put up a few comments on there so hopefully some feedback will be coming my way shortly.

Mrs B has been using the car for a few days doing her run to work and today I got a chance in it going to a Chamber of Commerce meeting this morning (Huddersfield) A few members know I’m going ‘EV’ and I was inundated by queries, hence this blog site !. Every single person has the same query …..whats the range. What can I say, we have to wrap our driving plans around our EV’s unlike the ICE drivers who can pick and choose and also pay £90.00 a fill up whilst we plug into ecoctricity’s fast chargers for free !. You pays your money and makes your choice.  As a confirmed almost rabid reducer of carbon footprints my own business (www.portelav.co.uk) is all about getting business folk to work from home some of the time so now when I have to drive off to a customers premises at least some of the time its in an EV fueled by green energy.

About stevenbarrett23

I run a telephone & computer supply and maintenance business, mainly VoIP, traditional phone systems & Cloud office systems. www.portelav.co.uk. I've been with the Company since 1981 so pre-mobiles pre-PC's. We are very keen on reducing our own and other businesses carbon output so we all work from home. The EV is just the next logical step towards being carbon neutral both in business and personally. Your kids will be thanking us for leaving a bit of the Planet for them once we push off !
